Luke McConkey has a very unique style of illustration, his playful work was brought to life by animation studio Yatta and I was fortunate enough to be asked to provide an original score and sound design. Retro samples were lifted from vintage drum machines layered with crushed acoustic drum hits to mimic that authentic late 80’s / 90’s hip hop sound. Combined with some scratches, a rich bustling city soundscape and some foley for feet and movement to fill in the gaps.
